The photography programme emphasises professionalism and industry relevance. The tutors and visiting lecturers are practising photographers or potential employers from the media industries such as working photographers, agents, artists, art directors, marketing professionals and curators. The first fixed photograph was produced by Joseph Niépce in 1827 and was originally referred to as aHeliographdue to the long period of exposure to the sun required to produce the image.
